Golden Ears Park Maternity Session

I adore maternity sessions ya’ll!!

When I first started doing photography as a full time job, I thought I wanted my primary focus to be on newborn photography. Of course I also offered maternity but in the beginning it wasn’t my favourite type of photography. As I gain experience, Maternity has become so much more than I could have imagined. Maternity sessions are laid back, and fun, and I almost always feel like im just hanging out with old friends! This is a great time for me to get to know my couple, and who they are before they become three (or four or five). I feel so honoured when anyone entrusts me to capture these intimate moments before your new baby arrives. I offer Professional Maternity sessions in Mission, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows BC. This particular session was taken at Allouette Lake/ Golden Ears Provincial Park at dusk.

I felt especially attached to this couple! I did a session with Scotty and Courtney a few weeks ago and despite the many bumps along the way to actually scheduling and meeting up, the images turned out amazingly. We started a bit later than we had originally planned and I think the light ended up being perfect because of it.

Courtney Opted to wear two client closet dresses for new Maternity Session. A classic sheer white dress for our first lake front location, and a bold green robe for our second location. Dresses are available in various sizes colours and styles for my clients to choose from. If you’re looking for a more casual feel for your maternity photos, you don’t have to wear a dress at all! Some clients opt to style they’ re own sessions, and have already chosen what they want to wear. This is completely up to you. A pregnancy photo session is meant to make you feel beautiful and comfortable in whatever you choose.

Something I hear often is that IM SHY IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA!! Or “ I hate how I look in photos”. It common and normal to feel a bit shy or nervous at first, or to not really know how to pose in a way that looks amazing in front of the camera. DO NOT WORRY! I have been doing this for quite some time, I really love to have fun at my sessions, get to know my clients as people, learn about their relationship and family. This keeps my photo sessions feeling relaxed and light. I want your true selves to shine through in your images. I will guide you through your session, show you how to pose with your partner, and on your own in a way that will create timeless and intimate images before welcoming your new little one.

Makeup and hair can be added to any service! If you want the glam squad, let me know ahead of time so I can book a stylist to add to your service. We want your Maternity Session to be a time where you feel your most beautiful, and I want to make sure we have everything in place to achieve that experience for you.

The ideal time to book your Maternity Photos is between 33- 37 weeks. This ensures we will be able to meet up before your new baby is likely to arrive, but still allows us to capture your baby belly is at full term.
